2018 Chamber Membership Directory Cover Photo Contest Winner

The Moodna Viaduct – Greg Miller, CMIT Solutions of Orange County

By: Barbara Martinez, Director of Communications

It was that time of year again, where we gathered all of our Member Information to create the newest edition of the annual membership directory.  The Membership Directory, a valuable resource for our members and businesses in Orange County, lists vital information about our members and their businesses in easy categories and user-friendly format.  The membership directory also contains strategically placed ADs from members looking to get additional advertising exposure at a cost-effective price.  The membership directory is truly our go-to guide in the office and we carry with it everywhere we go, I also have a box in my trunk so I can share with anyone who would be interested in their copy.  One of the biggest challenges of the directory is picking a great cover photo.  As the Director of Communications, I wanted to be able to tell a story with the picture and I realized, who better than our members to tell the story.  After sending the first request via email blast for members to participate in the 2018 Membership Cover Photo Contest, I received so many wonderful submissions and I got to see sections of Orange County that I don’t get to see very often.  We truly are blessed with having a beautiful county and our member submissions proved that. After reviewing over 100 pictures we picked 5 winners, with 1 becoming the cover photo.  It was difficult picking the winner but I think the members will agree the 2018 Membership Directory Cover photo was an awesome choice.

A note from Greg Miller from CMIT, who provided the winning submission:

The Moodna Viaduct is a favorite subject of Orange County artists.  It’s such a unique, and beautiful site, that I make a point to drop by, even if just to gaze for a few minutes, whenever I am in the area.  My favorite time of year for this scene is Autumn, as seen here, with colorful trees embracing the pastoral green meadow below the trestle.  I’m really happy to have made photos like this one that has been used by the Open Space Institute to communicate about their conservation efforts in this region.  This scene is one of the jewels that is part of a conservation and wildlife corridor that includes Storm King State Park, Black Rock Forest, Schunnemunk Mountain State Park.  As an Orange County-based photographer, I’m also thrilled to have had three books published that include Orange County scenes, including my latest book Tuxedo Park: The Gift of Nature.

In addition to my photography business, I own and operate CMIT Solutions of Orange County, a proud member of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, where we specialize in managing servers, computers, networks, and network security for local businesses.  CMIT Solutions of Orange County is part of a franchise network with over 180 offices nationwide.  Our national strength allows us to provide Fortune 500 level IT services that are sized and priced for local businesses, along with strong relationships with top technology vendors.  Our goal is to be Orange County’s best-in-class IT service provider.
