The New York Air Show at Stewart International Airport on August 29-30 will be the only air show in the country to feature a military Combat Search and Rescue Mission demonstration this year, giving attendees an up-close look at how our troops are rescued when they are behind enemy lines.
New York’s 106th Air National Guard Rescue Wing will showcase the training, courage and precision it takes to carry out their motto: “That Others May Live.” The demonstration will feature the HH-60 Pavehawk helicopter and a team of Pararescue Jumpers (PJs). This unit is based in Westhampton Beach, NY, and stand ready to go anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice.
“We are so fortunate to have this elite Air National Guard Unit on hand for a rare demonstration of how combat search, rescue and recovery is conducted” said Air Show Director Bryan Lilley.
