It’s officially Girl Scout Cookie Season and while most of us have already stocked up on all of our favorites, did you know that there’s also a way you can donate boxes of cookies to the brave men and women serving our country?
Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson’s Operation Cookie Drop is a council-wide effort to send donated cookies to our troops overseas, in local hospitals and in veteran’s homes. In fact, cookies from Operation Cookie Drop have been delivered as far as Afghanistan, Egypt, Bahrain and the South Pole!
Operation Cookie Drop began in 2002 with a donation of 20 boxes of cookies to our servicemen and servicewomen. This year, they are aiming to donate their millionth box of cookies!
