Rondout Savings Bank’s 150 Ways of Giving Helps the YMCA’s Bike Programs

In celebration of a century and a half of philanthropy and service, Rondout Savings Bank is marking their 150-year celebration with a Calendar of Giving program. A different local non-profit organization is featured each month, fostering community engagement and financial support. In each of the bank’s locations, donation drop-offs are featured in the lobbies keeping the spirit of philanthropy alive throughout the year.

The month of May featured the YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County, a community-based organization providing social and recreational services to the residents of Ulster County. Rondout Savings Bank had collection boxes in each of their seven locations, collecting bicycle helmets for the non-profit organization.

In early June, the bank dropped off their collected items to the YMCA’s President/CEO Heidi Kirschner and Tom Polk, Bicycle Educator—a total of 49 bike helmets were delivered. The YMCA offers many bicycling programs—from youth to adult—including Bike It! Youth Bicycle Education Program, Smart Cycling Adult Bicycle Education Class, and the Annual Tour de Kingston and Ulster Road Ride to name just a few.
