Walden, NY – The law firm of Jacobowitz and Gubits, LLP (J&G) is pleased to announce that Andrea Dumais, senior counsel; Jennifer Echevarria, associate attorney; Alanna Iacono, associate attorney; and Kelly Pressler, senior counsel; have all been recognized by Super Lawyers, 2018 Upstate New York Rising Stars.
These four women offer a wide range of legal services to J&G clients. Andrea Dumais, a resident of Orange County, has been recognized as a Leadership Orange and Junior League of Orange County Rising Star in 2016 and concentrates in matrimonial law, family law, and criminal law. Jennifer, a resident of Warwick, is the firm’s Spanish-speaking attorney; she has been recognized as a 2015 Leadership Orange and Junior League of Orange County Rising Star, received the Public Service Attorney Award in 2015 from the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties (WBAOSC), is on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Middletown and is WBAOSC’s delegate to the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York’s Legislation Committee, and concentrates in the areas of employment and immigration law. Alanna, a resident of Ulster County, is on the board of the Southern Ulster County Chamber of Commerce and is on the advisory board of the Samuel Dorskey Museum of Art at SUNY New Paltz and focuses on elder law, real estate including landlord-tenant and foreclosures. Kelly, a resident of Montgomery, NY, is Vice President of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York, treasurer of the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties, was recognized as the 2016 Outstanding New Lawyer by the Women’s Bar Association of Orange and Sullivan Counties, and is a recent graduate of the Leadership Orange program. She concentrates on general civil litigation and complex commercial litigation.
Andrea has been recognized as a Super Lawyer Upstate New York Rising Star in 2015, 2016, and 2017. Jennifer, Kelly, and Alanna have been recognized as Super Lawyers Upstate New York Rising Stars in 2016 and 2017.

The selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, with one exception: to be eligible for inclusion in Rising, Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years or younger or have been practicing for ten years or less. Super Lawyers uses a patented vetting process that is based on peer nominations and independent research among twelve key categories. Nominations are extensive and the Rising Stars list makes up only 2.5% of the original pool of candidates.
