Middletown, NY – On Friday, November 30th, HONOR will usher in the holiday season with their annual tree lighting.
HONOR’s mission is to help others needing our resources. One of the ways HONOR provides hope is through hospitality in the form of temporary housing to the Hudson Valley’s most vulnerable individuals. Their two food pantries both located in Middletown provide food that has nourished many families throughout our community. The entire staff at HONOR is dedicated to treating each and every client they serve with compassion, respect, and dignity. Part of that responsibility is doing all they can to make the holidays special for their guests.
The public is invited to join HONOR on November 30th from 4 – 5:30 pm at their Middletown shelter located at 38 Seward Avenue to celebrate the season with a tree lighting. The event will feature caroling, a special story time, snacks and special guests from LEGOLAND New York Resort. “It’s our privilege to support HONOR in the amazing work they do here in Orange County,” said LEGOLAND New York Resort Director of Development Phil Royle. “HONOR’s focus on rebuilding the self-esteem of our neighbors in need is one that aligns well with our values at LEGOLAND New York and throughout Merlin Entertainments.”
To help the families currently residing in the house celebrate the season, we are asking for donations of unwrapped toys for the children of HONOR. Donations of wrapping paper would also be welcomed. Get caught up in the spirit of the season, bring your donations to the event and help us to spread some holiday cheer.
Chris Molinelli, executive director of HONOR shared, “We at HONOR are so excited to once again usher in the Holiday season surrounded by our dearest friends, family members, and supporters. We are so very grateful to our friends at LEGOLAND New York for agreeing to help make this year’s Tree Lighting so very special for the youngest of our guests here at HONOR. We hope the community comes out to share in what will be a very memorable evening for all.”
