It’s 2019. Are You Using These Marketing Tools?

2019 Marketing Tools - Orange County Chamber of Commerce

Sure, direct mail still works, but it’s 2019. Are you utilizing the latest marketing tactics? If not, this is the year to accelerate your growth with some new tools. Consider integrating some of these into this year’s marketing plan – it’s not too late to pivot and prosper!

Digital Media

Digital media ads should be a part of your everyday marketing plan. Many platforms such as Facebook and Google use ads to serve products and services to their users. If you have ever been on a website searching for a product, then logged into Facebook and seen a sponsored post featuring that same product, you’ve experienced the end result.

Content Marketing

All of your advertising, social media posts, website, brochures, and newsletters should contain content that connects to and tells your business’ story.  And it shouldn’t just be sales pitches, either. Put out useful or entertaining content that serves your customers. A perfect example of this – and one of the first – is the John Deere magazine, The Furrow, which debuted in the 1890’s and is still published today. It provides “practical information devoted to the interests of better farming,” but it still sells tractors.

Video

As seen in the past year, video content is growing exponentially. Live video, short videos, videos without sound, virtually reality videos- there are so many options now. Given the use of smart phone technology, it is not difficult to get on the bandwagon. You can create video content and use it on your social media, your website, in your email marketing, and more.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Google controls the world of web, and you need to seriously consider maximizing your website for search engine optimization. By optimizing keywords for searchability, you improve your website’s ranking on Google. The higher the rank, the more likely people will find your products or services.

If you are interested in learning more information on any of these tactics, take advantage of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce’s Marketing University. Individual sessions will be offered by marketing professionals in the area to offer their expertise on these trending topics throughout this year.
